Arctic Souls: Polar Bear, Arctic Fox, Arctic Hare

Dominic Harris presents a series of digital portraits depicting some of the most emblematic creatures of the Arctic: the Polar Bear, the Arctic Fox and the Arctic Hare. These creatures have been meticulously digitally hand-painted in a complex process of layering that is comparable to traditional oil painting. The portrait format also recalls this conventional mode of representation, juxtaposing traditional artistic mediums with Harris’ cutting-edge approach to representation. Unlike oil paintings, the subjects of these works are anything but still as they respond to our gestures and take on a life of their own.
